eMAM provides extensive support for proxy based workflows while managing native/hires content in almost any on premise or cloud storage and archive system.
No need to push everything to a cloud or centralized storage when eMAM can manage local storage along with cloud storage, central storage, and archive-all from the same system.
No need to reshoot b-roll of the same scene again when eMAM serves up an online digital library of all historical content. eMAM powers marking, logging, tagging, organization, review/approval, sharing links, and digital delivery for authorized users all using light weight proxy copies from the web or tablet interfaces. Hires content can be securely and cheaply stored in a LTO or ODA archives and delivered when needed for edit or broadcast.
eMAM Feeder is a local ingest system from any Mac, Linux, or PC desktop Users can drag and drop or scan folders. They can choose appropriate categories and projects and metadata tags. Users have options to keep content in the source location, copy it, or move it to centralized storage. The Feeder preserves the complex folder structure of the source storage, key for editing and processing many camera formats. Feeder will restart the ingest process if it loses a connection. It can also use file acceleration for faster transfer times.
eMAM manages the generation of proxy copies for sharing and web based collaboration. Using different transcoding systems, eMAM can support almost any format or codec from DNX HD to DPX. This can be done locally through Adobe Premiere, through open source transcoding systems, or almost any system with a command line interface. If the camera or ingest system makes a H264 MP4 for video, then eMAM can use that. eMAM can also manage Telestream Vantage, Harmonic ProMedia Carbon, or Harmonic WFS for server based transcoding.
Metadata is key for driving search. The camera metadata comes in automatically. External metadata can come at ingest through an XML or can be entered in the Feeder. After ingest, users can also enter metadata through the eMAM web or tablet interfaces. eMAM can collect metadata fields into groups which can then be organized into sets. This allows the appropriate metadata fields are associated with the correct user groups and the correct type of assets.
eMAM gives remote and non-technical staff to the edit bay, managing the media and the workflow. eMAM users can search clips, mark, annotate, subclip, and create story boards/sequences.
