Content is money. Efficiently making and monetizing the highest quality content is your key to success. Secured by IT policies with role based permissions, authorized staff and customers access only what they should. To 4K and beyond, content processed and stored in any number of locations in storage, in archive, in the cloud with secure access from one platform. Current and historical, all searchable online. Immediate feedback with markers and comments from any connected device focuses the cameras and cuts the edit times. In the cloud, in different locations, in different systems. All connected with key technology and platform integrations. Simplified. Automated. Efficient. Media production in the 21st Century.   See what eMAM can do for you.

Media Services

Move from manual inefficient processes to automated workflows.

Authorized staff or customers can use a tablet or web browser to access the entire library of current and historical content for the entire organization and place orders for fulfillment. Restricted assets will not be available for unauthorized groups of users, or the media service staff can deny inappropriate requests due to rights, authorization, or other issues (e.g. downloading DNX HD over a dial up line).

Using the unique identifier for each digital asset, staff can efficiently process orders. eMAM keeps proxy copies for sharing and the native resolution content in storage or archive in any location.

Staff can send links using social media systems such as Facebook, Linked In, Twitter, and Google+. They can also send mixed media branded emails with video, images, and other files with security settings for forwarding, downloading, and expiration dates.

The delivery widget will automatically grab the native resolution file from any storage or archive system. eMAM manages server based transcoding using Harmonic ProMedia Carbon or WFS or transcoding with automated workflows through Telestream Vantage. eMAM also integrates with UDP file acceleration systems Aspera, Signiant, and File Catalyst. Staff can use preset delivery locations to FTP locations, CDNs, or other destinations. eMAM is developing integrated multiformat, multiplatform locations with BrightCove and other delivery partners.

Staff can use eMAM Online or a customized platform instead of using several of the common online platforms to better control permissions, history, and analytics.

Information Technology

eMAM is based on best of breed technologies and processes

  • Microsoft Server, running on dedicated machines or VMs
  • Microsoft SQL, with search based on its advanced protocols. Standard backup procedures can be used.
  • Service Oriented Architecture, which allows both enterprise scaling as well as a true hybrid deployment between different on premise and/or cloud storage and processing locations.
  • Storage agnostic, so eMAM can support almost any shared network device.
  • Cloud storage and processing using Microsoft or Amazon technologies or the ComputeNext ecosystem.
  • Extensive configuration from the Super Admin Console allows companies to set up the system and make changes without customization
  • Established API and SDK using SOAP, with RESTful under development.

It is easy to support eMAM.

  • One centralized library system to provide access to all of the content from all the locations.
  • One simple system to minimize training and support while maximizing user acceptance.
  • Nothing to install and support on local desktops, except for eMAM Feeder ingest application and native iPad and Android apps.

eMAM can support complete, integrated workflows

  • A series of technology integrations to power combined workflows.
  • eMAM Feeder can support remote ingest from any Mac, Windows or Linux desktop for DPX sequences, text, graphics, and a variety of camera formats. Whether through scanning or drag and drop, complex folder structures are maintained.
  • eMAM can support storage in almost any storage system. Tiered storage management through eMAM or Quantum Storage Manager.
  • eMAM supports all leading archive management systems, including , XenData, Atempo ASG, Archiware P5, SGL FlashNet, Front Porch Diva, 1Beyond EZ Stor, and Quantum StorNext
  • Mezzanine editing-using edit proxies with a final conform to hires- lightens the load on the network when multiple editors are pulling high definition video from the same storage and network.
  • Extensive support for Adobe Anywhere workflows, which allows worldwide real time collaborate editing using standard internet connections while keeping native resolution files secured on premise according to IT security policies.
  • Use of proxy copies for sharing and collaboration minimizes processing, storage, and transmission. It also minimizes duplicate storage and countless needless downloads.

eMAM helps to secure digital assets

  • Multiple security levels restrict user permissions and access in the system. Granular permission settings control almost every system function.
  • LDAP/Active Directory can be used to set up user groups, which maps to categories of allowed assets.
  • Soft digital rights management including tags, descriptions, and color coding to indicate permissions.
  • Hard rights restrictions include placement in restricted categories and subcategories and triggers based on metadata settings (e.g. expiration trigger).
Ingest and Archive

Your mission is to ensure important content is digitized, tagged, processed, and preserved

eMAM Feeder is a local ingest system from any Mac, Linux, or PC desktop Users can drag and drop or scan folders. Users can choose appropriate categories and projects and metadata tags. Users have options to keep content in the source location, copy it, or move it to centralized storage. The Feeder preserves the complex folder structure of the source storage, which is key for editing and processing many camera formats. Feeder will restart the ingest process if it loses a connection. It can also use file acceleration for faster transfer times.

eMAM manages the generation of proxy copies for sharing and web based collaboration. This can be done locally through Adobe Premiere, through open source transcoding systems, or almost any system though a command line interface. If the camera or ingest system makes a H264 MP4 for video, then eMAM can use that. eMAM can also manage Telestream Vantage, Harmonic ProMedia Carbon, or Harmonic WFS for server based transcoding.

Metadata is key for driving search. The camera metadata comes in automatically. External metadata can come at ingest through XML or can be entered in the Feeder. After ingest, users can also enter metadata through the eMAM web or tablet interfaces. eMAM can collect metadata fields into groups, which can then be organized into sets. This allows the appropriate metadata fields are associated with the correct user groups and the correct type of assets.

Digitization preserves the important content for the organization. It can turn a liability into a viable asset that can be monetized or retasked. eMAM allows multiple ingest options to streamline the process. Metadata tags and labels can be entered separately, at ingest, or after ingest. Users can QC or provide feedback about the digitization during the process. eMAM can manage the content in almost any storage system in any on premise or cloud location. It can also directly most of the common archive systems to store the content in an LTO or ODA library, which gives a great solution for permanent storage at a fraction of the cost. With the eMAM system keeping proxy copies and metadata, users can easily access and share the archived content, so customers have a permanent digital library for all of the content at a fraction of the cost.

Production

Extensive support for proxy based workflows while managing native content in almost any on premise or cloud storage and archive system.

No need to push everything to a cloud or centralized storage when eMAM can manage local storage together with cloud storage, central storage, and archive.

No need to reshoot b-roll of the same scene again when eMAM serves up an online digital library of all historical content. eMAM powers marking, logging, tagging, organization, review/approval, sharing links, and digital delivery for authorized users all using light weight proxy copies from the web or tablet interfaces. Hires content can be securely and cheaply stored in a LTO or ODA archive and delivered when needed for edit or broadcast.
